Riding high on the success of their first children’s book, two Townsville brothers living with autism have returned with another exciting adventure.

Grab your magnifying glasses and get settled in for a bedtime story, because there’s an exciting new Triz adventure to read.
Haydn and Damien Crespan, two Townsville-raised brothers on the Autism Spectrum had their first children’s picture book, The Adventures Of Triz The Babysitter, published by Boolarong Press two years ago.
Co-written by the brothers and illustrated by Damien, the tale about Triz, the prehistoric lizard overcoming adversity was an opportunity for the brothers to escape from their lives while paying tribute to the challenges and confusion that they faced in their daily lives.
With its compelling storyline and pictures loaded with hidden details, the tale struck a chord with Australian families who flocked to book signings around Queensland, giving the usually reclusive brothers an opportunity to meet new people and broaden their horizons.
Now based in Brisbane, Haydn recently returned home to Townsville to see family and promote their second book in the The Adventures Of Triz series – Triz Destroys The Sun.
He said their publisher green-lit the second story after they cracked the thousand sales mark, with the new story released last October.
“It’s really fortuitous that I made a dinosaur version of myself because this is like a metaphor for evolution, all the mistakes and learning to grow, this is like a personification of me growing and changing and hopefully being better,” Haydn said.
